The organizations below may help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, families, caregivers, and support teams navigate services, benefits, advocacy, education, and long-term planning.

Indiana Disability & Waiver Resources

Bureau of Disabilities Services — BDS

Supports Hoosiers through Indiana’s disability waiver programs and group home services, focused on choice, self-determination, and community living.

Indiana Medicaid HCBS Waivers

Medicaid waiver programs including the Family Supports Waiver and Community Integration & Habilitation Waiver to help individuals live in their home and community.

BDS Gateway

The online portal to apply for waiver services and/or group home placement in Indiana.

Advocacy, Family Support & Education

The Arc of Indiana

Provides information, advocacy, and resources for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

Indiana Dept. of Education — Special Ed

Offers special education information, parent resources, procedural safeguards, and links to IN*SOURCE and Indiana Disability Resource FINDER.

Benefits & Financial Support

Social Security — SSI / SSDI

SSI provides monthly payments to people with disabilities with limited income. SSDI may benefit individuals with qualifying disabilities based on work history.

The Arc Master Trust

Provides special needs trust administration for individuals with disabilities, people with mental illness, and individuals age 65 or older.

CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions

Serves Central Indiana by connecting older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers with home-based services, meals, transportation, and resource navigation.

A free online directory helping families, caregivers, and professionals locate services, equipment, advocates, and resources across Indiana.

Indiana 2-1-1

Connects individuals and families with local community resources including housing, food, transportation, crisis support, and essential services.

Indiana Vocational Rehabilitation Services

Helps individuals with disabilities prepare for, obtain, maintain, or advance in employment. Services available locally across Indiana.
